Richard Tosic Architects were commissioned to initially assist with Building Regulations, however this developed into additional design changes.
The project is located in Flushing, near Falmouth in Cornwall. The site slopes steeply and terraces where the bungalow sits. It has a view of the River Fal. The new extension is to the rear of the property, and the design concept was to link the inside and outside spaces as much as possible. The owners are very keen gardeners. The new extension improves the kitchen space and provides a large dining area which opens out to the garden.
The original design had a green roof, however this was changed to a low pitched roof with cedar shingles.
