Richard Tosic Architects were commissioned to assist with the statutory consents such as planning permission and building regulations approval.
The site had a planning consent for a cottage, which the owner wanted to adapt to suit their requirements. During the design process, it became apparent that the original design was not buildable, and various changes had to be made. The new design had to be lowered into the ground to remedy the error in floor levels. It was also decided to have the living accommodation on the first floor to take advantage of the spectacular views across the St Just Creek.
The external finishes include stone, render and natural slates for the roof.
